Dresden - city of contrasts

Dresden - city of contrasts
The first thing you learn as a visitor to Dresden is that the old town is actually the new town. The entire area around the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger has been rebuilt in recent decades. Every building has been authentically restored and visitors get the feeling of walking through a real old town. The entire area is worth seeing and offers numerous tourist highlights. Nevertheless, this area is only one part of a diverse city.
After the old town, you should definitely visit the large garden. The huge city garden is designed in a variety of ways and at its centre is the palace with its ponds. Visitors can see the entire area on a miniature railway and save themselves a long walk.
North of the Elbe is the artists' quarter and many other places such as gardens, buildings, courtyards and creative manufactories. Photographically, this area is much more varied and is best explored on foot. In this neighbourhood, the city is richer in contrasts and a hotspot for trendy bars and creative gastronomy.
